Revision ARDs for SSI Year Fifth and Eighth Grade Students
Hi all,
I just heard this in a department chair meeting and wanted to make sure you were informed. The department chairs were asked to schedule revision ARDs for the students who did not pass the first administration of STAAR to discuss participation in the second and third round of STAAR prior to the second administration of STAAR.
This ARD will lay the groundwork for decision making based on if students pass the second and third round of STAAR. You can discuss participation in the following STAAR rounds and projected decisions based on if students will or will not pass so you can call parents to inform them of next steps without having to have an ARD after the second or third round of STAAR.
Every student who does not pass the first round of STAAR will need an accelerated instruction plan whether or not they will be promoted to the next grade level. This includes students who are receiving only speech therapy services who do not pass STAAR.
