With the new update to Boardmaker 7 - There is a new Boardmaker Student Center.  They are working on switching it out in Self Service now!  Your students will need to download the new Student Center application for them to use it!  The old one will remain on their iPads until it is reset but will not be functional.   In your Boardmaker online account under "student management" at the top - you can download a PDF or email family's directions on how to get on the new student center if you have made them an account.  It comes with a QR code so they can easily get on!!   It is towards the bottom of the student management page.   Have a great break!! Hi everyone! I know a lot of people are struggling with the SLP google drive because it won't let you move copies that you make into your own drive. I found a way around that, and my PLC asked me to share a video. Hope it helps! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nnmqELADbJ9WD2qT-nqKFCt95sRXXmTB/view Delaney Andrews

SmallTALK Bitmoji Page

Hello, I want to share the Bitmoji room I have use in SmallTALK.  I have created this Bitmoji page so parents can access information about the weekly sound/ phonological process we cover. You will see on the index page a list of the sounds/processes by week. When you click on the weekly sounds, a new room will open. Each room has a variety of links to teach the parents how to make the sound, links for books we will be reading, songs, and anything else I can find that has to do with the weekly sound.  Once I published the page, the link stays the same. I do not have to resend this link each time I update something or add new information. The updates are automatically added. This only gives the parents the ability to view the pages.    SmallTALK index page Here is the link in case the above link does not work: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/e/2PACX-1vQItL3CmtBNUaDrgDIfQ4IpZdNHg64RswO9fsBUVwx-Wk8bUqOmy11cXmpXmc_Ddh_A9Qt-9SUXOBUm/pub?start=false&loop=fa...

Informed SLP Grammar Guide

Hey everyone!  The Informed SLP just released a free resource on their blog to help SLPs with targeting grammar forms in the therapy.  They've compiled a spreadsheet called "Grammatical Concepts of English: Suggested Order of Intervention." I've copied the link for the blog post below, and you can find the spreadsheet here . The Informed SLP Blog post:  https://www.theinformedslp.com/how-to/grammar-chart They do explain in the blog post that there are " no systematic studies have yet been completed that show which order of intervention is most effective." Even though this is the case, they've used the research that is available to try to describe logical sequences for targets. They  describe  how the information in the spreadsheet is organized  in the bl og post .  It looked like it could be helpful, so I thought it was worth sharing! -Janie

Pragmatic Language vs. Social Skills Form

Hi everyone! There is now a digital version of a form created by our very own focus group who wrote the TSHA disability determination guidelines for AU/SI - yay! For your reference, the rating of social skills or pragmatics has been left out so that staff/parents are not confused or swayed to rate a certain way. When you are reviewing the information provided  Section 1, 3, and 5 are social skills Section 2 and 4 are pragmatic Make sure to take a look at the information this form gathers to see if it is appropriate for your student's age level expectations.  The form is in SLP Google Drive > Evaluations > Digital Forms MAKE A COPY > DRAFT COPY Pragmatic Language vs. Social Skills

IMPACT Social Communication Assessment Tool

Hello SLPs! I'm so excited to share with you a new FREE online rating profile for pragmatic language developed by Dr. Lavi, the creator of the video based Clinical Assessment of Pragmatics (CAPS). EDIT: THE IMPACT IS ONLY FREE UNTIL FRIDAY 9/18 I've added a folder called "IMPACT" to the SLP Google Drive in the Evaluation folder. Within that folder is a slide presentation (please don't edit, make a copy for yourself), a brief training video (about 16 minutes) and a shell to use the IMPACT. The rating scale itself can be accessed online here .  I also mention in the video some caution for ELL students. Dr. Lavi responded to me shortly after I was finished creating the training video, so I've added her response into the slide deck. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this new tool! I'm in the process of utilizing it on a few cases myself! Hope you are all well! -Sara W.

Anti-Fog Clear Masks

Image
Hi everyone! I just came across a tutorial on how to prepare a clear mask to be anti-fog! It's pretty simple! I've linked it here . Also, if you're a sewer, I found this clear mask tutorial on Youtube and while the fit isn't perfect, it's not bad! I find it to be somewhat snug, but everyone's face shape is different. I'm sure the pattern could be tweaked slightly, if needed. In this picture, I'm using toothpaste (applied similarly to the method linked above) to prevent fog. It's still a tiny bit cloudy, but I found that it works for about 30 minutes or so.  I hope everyone is doing well! - Sara Wilkerson

Contact Info Template

Image
Happy Saturday! I created an infographic containing all of my contact info and wanted to share the template in case it might be helpful to someone else. You should be able to edit the text boxes, add your own bitmoji, save and then export as a PDF. I uploaded mine to my google classroom so my parents could easily access all of the information in one place. Here is the slides link where you can create your own.  -Kimberly Bezner
