Hi all –  Here is your  ULS Supplement for November.  The theme this month is Geography (Maps, How to get there and where things are from). Check out the Active Learning suggestions and CORE words taken from the curriculum this month.  We are still adding some materials so make sure you check back periodically because your colleagues might have added something good.   (The current event this month is Thanksgiving.)  Below are the links for the folder and supplements.  As always - please include your ideas and materials so others can use.   FYI - You don't have to wait for notification to check out the next month’s supplement.  We work on it periodically all month. Add your thoughts and suggestions!!! If you have any questions - please contact Corinne or me.  Folder https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fskAr8CE7wn1X7mHibvqTvi5n4iWhlGN Combined Supplement https://drive.google.com/open?id=1HwldIScDq4hHbjw...

Narrative Focus Group Update- Prof. Development Hours

Image
Hello everyone, We just wanted to send this quick reminder that the Narrative Focus Group is offering a professional development opportunity for this Thursday, the 18th at 4:30.  We will be discussing the narrative analysis system that we developed last year in our Focus Group, and we would love to hear feedback from those of you that have already started using it!  We presented about it at the GROW conference this summer, and thought that some of you may be interested in attending a PD session to hear that information. If so, here you go! For those who attended this summer or attend on the 18th, we are hoping to gather feedback from you later this year after you've had a chance to use the materials. This is totally voluntary, but we would love to see you there! Sign up in TNL to let us know you're coming! Thanks! -Lori and Janie

RISD Dysphagia Team

We wanted to inform you of the new RISD Dysphagia Team role, and the responsibility of all campus SLPs in dysphagia management.  The RISD Guidelines can be found here . It is important to note that the campus-based SLP should always  contact a member of the Dysphagia Team prior to any action being taken on behalf of the student. The Dysphagia referral form can be found here .  The school-based SLP role in dysphagia management is different from the medical model of therapy. The student must be able to access FAPE. Please make special note of the "What's in the Law?" section of the guidelines. School-based SLPs should not be providing feeding therapy to a student. Once the Dysphagia Team has been notified, a member of the team will contact you regarding the next steps for your student.  If you are directed to have questionnaires completed, you can find the Parent Feeding Questionnaire here . You can find the Teacher Feeding Questionnaire here . ...
