Welcome Amazing SLPs!

We are so excited to welcome our new SLPs to RISD, and wanted to wish a huge welcome back to our team of returning SLPs! We hope you had a wonderful, relaxing summer break. There is no group of people who deserved it more!

When brainstorming ways we could build our community of SLPs and improve our communication, we decided to transform the google docs that hosted our separate area virtual meetings into a blog. This format has some great advantages that we hope you will love!

1. You will find all information in one place
2. Everyone will have access to the same information at the same time
3. Posts can be categorized and are searchable
4. You will be notified of new posts, so you don't need to check it constantly!
5. If you add a comment to a post, you can select to be notified when someone responds to your comment!

• As a first step please use your @risd.org email to sign up for notifications under the menu on the top left (see the 3 horizontal lines?).  You will receive an email ONCE a day with a summary of all posts made that day.

• You have all been invited to be blog authors, so that you can post questions to team leads as well to call on the wealth of knowledge held by your fellow SLPs.  The email from "Blogger" has likely gone to your district Gmail junk folder.

• Please log in to your "@g.risd.org" account and check your folder for the email.

• Before you respond, please mark the email as "NOT SPAM", so that future emails from the blog go to your inbox instead.

• Then please move the email to your inbox, and click that you accept the invitation.

• You will then be taken to blogger, where you will be asked to create a user profile.

• Next you'll see the following screen, where there is a button for writing posts!

• After you click "New post", you will go to a screen that will allow you to create a post title, and type in with some formatting features. To the right, click "Labels" to add a category for your post if you would like.

• When you are done typing your post (and adding a label if you want to!), click the orange "Publish" button in the top right corner... and your message will be live on the INTERWEB!

Give it a try! Please write a post giving a shout out to a fellow SLP who has helped you, or done something you admire!
