Bilingual SI Evaluation Requests

We have outlined the process for requesting a bilingual evaluation through Maria and Stephanie. As a reminder, please refer to the training from 8/11/17 and the Interactive Bilingual Decision Tree to help guide your decisions as to whether a bilingual evaluation may be needed. Once you have determined that a bilingual SI evaluation may be necessary, you will request the evaluation through the following process:

1. Submit the Request for Diagnostic Services to Christina Regan as usual. Include all necessary paperwork, and mark “Bilingual Evaluation” if it is appropriate. This should be done at the time you obtain consent, even if you are not yet certain if the bilingual SI evaluator will need to come out.
2. Complete your SI evaluation and gather all needed data, including CELF scores where appropriate.
3. If your student requires Spanish testing (refer to Bilingual Decision Tree to help you decide), the request will be made by completing a google form. A bilingual evaluator will not be alerted to your evaluation until this form is completed.  Each evaluator has a different form, so please complete the form based on which evaluator supports your campus. Links to these forms are listed below.
4. Within a week, Stephanie or Maria will contact you to schedule the Spanish SI evaluation. This will be done through an Outlook invitation. Please ensure that there is a room available for them to test on the date(s) scheduled. 
• If you do not receive an outlook invitation within a week of submitting the form, please follow-up directly with your bilingual evaluator.
